The picturesque and quiet village of Engreux, in the heart of the Ardennes, lies at the confluence of the two Ourthes, about halfway between Houffalize and La Roche, and 15 minutes ( by car) from Baraque de Fraiture.

Throughout the village, the surrounding forests and valleys meander through numerous marked hiking trails. A must is the long trip around the lake of the Barrage de Nisramont.
Many hikers and mountain bikers stop at 'Le Vieil Engreux', one of the more local pubs of the Ardennes. Jacques serves delicious food at fair prices among hundreds of gnomes.
Thimont
The hamlet of Thimont is a small village of a few houses, part of 'Buisson' with a source of drinkable water on the village square.
It is located at 4 km from La Roche-en-Ardenne and amidst the beautiful fields and forests.
The holiday homes are located in the back of a small street, so do not worry about any busy road...
Samrée
The village of Samrée - between La Roche and Baraque-fraiture - is close to the nature reserve 'Natura 2000', with beautiful walking trails through the woods and fields... The house is situated on the edge of the village and at the beginning of this hiking paradise.

and of course you can do cross-country skiing here when there 's enough snow .
